Nina O’Neil
Nina paints predominately with oil on canvas, however, begins her works in acrylic and often leaves areas of exposed underpainting in her final pieces. There is a strong emphasis on design and composition within her paintings, a result of her formal education and career in graphic design.
She loves to portray narratives through a cast of beloved characters, and to create the worlds they inhabit with graphic blocks of color, something often referred to as Ninaland. She finds intrigue in translating traditional landscapes and backgrounds into fractured geometric fields, using color to communicate temperature and mood.
