Throughout my career I have been interested in several subjects and approaches to these subjects; for example still life, figures and abstract styles.
The landscape has been the most important to me. For the past 20 years, it has been the dominant part of my work. I find the shapes and colors fascinating in the many locations I have visited.
Starting with ink sketches in line to full sheet watercolors, I have attempted to portray the landscape's many moods through the use of shadow and light as well as the simplification of forms and texture.
I look for the unusual around me for ideas and find them in unexpected places.
