Kate Flückinger Kline

Kate was born in West Seattle and has lived and worked here for the last twenty years.

She finds inspiration in our spectacular landscape. Equally profound and interesting to her are our shifting emotional landscapes.

Kate sees paintings as abstract narratives — a way to document a moment, a memory, a place in time. Her work explores themes of impermanence, renunciation, movement, and what is eternal. Her compositions join loose brushwork with rich color and an uninhibited physicality.

A longtime volunteer providing confidential emotional support to women in prison, she is currently creating a new program called Painting Inside to share the transformative power and process of painting.
